-NQF Board of Directors
The AAOS seeks to endorse an AAOS member for membership on the National Quality Forum (NQF) Board of Directors. The Directors of NQF annually establish strategic and tactical goals to further NQF’s mission, and oversee the policies, programs, and financial management of the organization to ensure effective and efficient operations. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise, experience, and interest in healthcare quality measurement, as well as in improvement and quality management. All materials should be submitted to AAOS Medical Director, William R. Martin, III, MD, by July 5, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. CT for consideration.

-NQF Care Coordination Steering Committee
The AAOS seeks to nominate individual(s) for membership on the NQF Care Coordination Steering Committee. The multi-stakeholder Steering Committee reviews the commissioned paper completed in Phase I of the care coordination project, and provides guidance on the final report on critical paths to implementation of care coordination performance measurement. In Phase II, the committee will oversee the development of a draft consensus report, including recommendation of which measures should be endorsed as consensus standards for care coordination. Individuals who have expertise in the development and testing of performance measures as well as those with expertise in the data platform issues are needed. Applicants must have specific expertise related to the goals of the care coordination priority, including strategies to reduce preventable emergency department visits and readmissions, patient experience of care with care coordination, and medication reconciliation. All materials should be submitted to AAOS Medical Director, William R. Martin, III, MD, by July 5, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. CT for consideration.
